Hanselmann pots are handcrafted using a centuries old process which ensures that each pot is a unique creation. Handmade on a potter's wheel or pressed from a slab of clay, the piece is first gently fired to 1800°, then glazed and individually decorated by hand. The final firing takes about ten hours and reaches 2400°F. Since the first firing is low and the second high, the character of the clay body is allowed to influence the glaze in a pattern of spotting and subtle marking that is unique in every pot.

Hanselmann Pottery has been making stoneware pottery in Corrales, New Mexico since 1970.
